Chiang Mai’s Citylife magazine has confirmed an eclectic line-up of live music acts will be performing at this year’s charity Garden Fair. A total of 11 bands are scheduled to play live between 11:00 and 21:00 at the Citylife Garden Fair on the 25 November. Thai band Baby Crazy will kick off the performances with a unique fusion of blues pop.
Groups such as the Odd Gods and Pi Ba and Toru playing genres including 1960s hits, acoustic reggae and heavy metal will follow. The headline live music act is the quirky didgeridoo playing band Tuku. The venue for this year’s Citylife Garden Fair extravaganza is the Art Centre at Chiang Mai University on Nimmanhaemin Road.
Citylife explains that the larger venue for the 2017 event will allow for more sales, food and beverage stalls and this will surely result in more funds raised for charity. Funds raised this year will support the likes of Burma Border Projects and help build a modern kitchen for a Karen students’ housing facility in Sanpatong.
The Citylife Facebook events page will carry news updates relating to the Garden Fair as and when they are posted. There is still a standing request asking Thai residents and expats to donate any unwanted household or personal articles. These will be used as raffle prizes, or sold in the auction, and all funds will be put in the charity kitty.
