New Chiang Mai water park launches with VIP opening ceremony

This week saw the official opening ceremonies at Chiang Mai’s newest visitor attraction, the Tube Trek Water Park. The water park is located in the eastern San Kampaeng District and opened to the general public on Wednesday 26 March. It is now open daily between 10:00 and 19:00.

The waterpark is themed on robots and features thrilling slides and chutes, a wave simulator and pools with rafts and inflatable tubes as well as food outlets. The reception for the waterpark has been mixed with some people saying it is exciting and others saying not all the features have been finished and two of the slides are not open.

Safety at Tube Trek is being taken seriously and there are always some of the crew of 50 certified lifeguards on duty. The park is located about two kilometres from Bo Sang Umbrella Village and reached via a side turning off Highway 1006 to San Kampaeng.

Admission prices are THB1,350 per day for foreign tourists with concession tickets of THB450 available for children below 100 centimetres in height and those over 60 years old. Discounted tickets are available for Thai nationals, foreigners with Thai ID such as driving licences and restricted two-hour admissions. Tube Trek Water Park’s website has more details about the various different offers.
